We are delighted to present the fourth iteration of our Emerging Futures research findings. The survey of more than 10,000 prospective and current students from 98 countries provides comprehensive insight into international student priorities, motivations, and perceptions.  

New in this round of research, we ask students about their use of artificial intelligence (AI), including ChatGPT, and their perceptions of how institutions are using AI technology.  

Key findings include:

• Destination perceptions: The US ranks highest for international student satisfaction and quality of education
• Artificial Intelligence: Globally, a third of students think AI used in application processing could make the process fairer (35%), but almost as many (31%) think it could discriminate against certain students
• ChatGPT: 74% of Chinese students plan to use AI such as ChatGPT to help submit their applications institutions in the US
