We are delighted to present our latest Emerging Futures, Voice of the International Student research. More than 6,000 students from 114 countries were surveyed.
Emerging Futures is an established body of research that provides comprehensive insight into the priorities, perceptions and motivations of international students as they relate to destination choice and international education experience.
Latest key findings include:
- Career development is a primary motivator: When students are choosing to study abroad, ‘career development’, such as increased employability and monetary benefits, is the most influential factor in the decision-making process globally.
- Financial considerations are still top of mind: Visa costs and savings requirements are weighing heavy with one in two students saying they would consider switching to another destination country if it had lower savings requirements.
- 68% of students whose first-choice destination was the US chose education quality as one of their top motivations for studying for an international qualification, followed by ‘career development’ (66%) and ‘knowledge’ (57%).
